Marty Stetina Joins Team Catsman
After spending the last decade living and practicing law 30 miles out to sea on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts,Marty and his family decided to relocate to one of the coolest places they have ever been. They moved to Telluride in the fall of 2011 after having vacationed here for several years. The opportunity to join forces with Telluride Real Estate Corporation and Steve Catsman, as a Broker Associate, and bring his years of legal experience to the Telluride brokerage community is a dream come true.
As a partner in the largest, most established and respected law firm on Nantucket, Vaughan, Dale, Hunter, Stetina & Beaudette, PC, Marty specialized in all aspects of real estate law, but his primary focus was representing buyers and sellers in residential and commercial real estate transactions. In that lead capacity, he controlled all aspects of the deal from initial offer, through negotiations and closing of title. He also acted as lead permitting attorney on a wide variety of development projects, from a private equity tennis/swim club and boutique hotels to residential subdivisions, condominiums and cooperatives, working closely with engineers, architects, surveyors and contractors. He has extensive experience in land use and planning, zoning, environmental compliance and construction law. In addition, during his time in Nantucket, he represented several U.S. commercial lending institutions, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase and TD Bank.
His unique experience and insight into all aspects of residential and commercial transactions from one of America’s premier real estate markets will add a powerful element to the services provided by TREC.
Marty is a native of Philadelphia, a graduate of The Hill School and earned an athletic scholarship from Villanova University where he played Division I baseball and earned All-Big East honors in 1995 and 1996 and All-East Region honors in 1995. He married his college sweetheart, Tara, in 1998 and they have 3 beautiful young children, daughters, Riley and Maeve and son, Colby. Prior to practicing on Nantucket, Marty was a commercial litigator in Philadelphia focusing on real estate and construction matters and environmental and contract law. He earned his J.D. from The Delaware Law School at Widener.
In his free time, he is an avid skier, scratch golfer, mountain biker and fly fisherman and loves sharing new adventures with his family.
