STAIRS TO GOLD HILL CHUTE

The new stairs from Gold Hill Chute #8 to Chute #9 opened for the first time on February 28th. The new stairway starts out at Gold Hill Chute #8 with an incredible viewing platform, even by Telluride standards. Then the climb begins by walking the bridge section across what is called 8 1/2 then Gold Hill # 9. The chute is narrow and steep at the top then opens up towards the bottom. The chute dumps you out into Palmyra Basin, a huge bowl below Palmyra Peak.
