TELLURIDE REGIONAL AIRPORT TO RE-OPEN
NOVEMBER 4th
|
|
The Telluride Regional Airport reconstruction project which
began on April 7, 2009 is scheduled to be completed on time with a grand
re-opening scheduled for 12:00 on November 4th.
This phase of the runway project
included the removal of the existing runway and a great reduction in grades
to increase safety and meet FAA standards. For those of you who have flown
in and out of Telluride, the infamous “dip” in the runway has
been raised by 16 feet which is an obvious improvement.

Currently two carriers are scheduled
to provide service to Denver and Phoenix; Great Lakes
and US Air.

TELLURIDE SKI RESORT ANNOUNCES MORE NEW TERRAIN AND MORE
SNOW
|
|
Telluride
Ski Resort has announced plans to open more new terrain this coming ski
season, for the third year in a row. The new terrain is located in Prospect
Bowl, specifically Gold Hill Chutes 2 through 5. This new terrain will be
accessible via a hike from the summit of Revelation lift and consists of
adrenaline inducing steep, rocky, treeless chutes.
The Ski
Resort has also received approval from the US Forest Service to add
additional water storage for snowmaking operations. This will allow the ski
area to build new underground snowmaking pipelines and improve or replace
some of the existing ones.

The Telluride Ski Area and the towns
of Mountain
Village and Telluride

"These challenging and crowd pleasing events, which will be the Telluride
