New Terrain To Open This Ski Season
|
|
After nearly five years of research, planning and discussion the decision to open three more access points in to the world renowned Bear Creek backcountry was announced by the Forest Service’s Norwood District Ranger office. These three new access points (fondly referred to as gates by Telluride skiers) will be added to the Telluride ski area for the 2009/2010 winter ski season. One access point will be located at the top of Palmyra Peak, for entrance to Lena Basin and Alta Lakes Basin; the other two locations will provide access into Lower Bear Creek. These access points will join two already existing gates; one near the top of Lift 15 and the other at the bottom of Bald Mountain.
