JUST IN TIME FOR PRESIDENTS' DAY WEEKEND — SNOW
|
We all love sunshine, but too much of anything is simply too much, especially when it's sunshine in mid-winter. So when the skies clouded up and the flakes began to fall, Telluride again was grateful for winter's return this week. The Telluride Ski Resort reported a healthy one and a half feet of snow that fell in just two days, and skiers returned to the ski area all grins. Presidents' Day weekend is typically a booked one in Telluride and with the new snowfall it will also be a happy one...

HELITRAX: FLYING TELLURIDE’S SKIES IN PURSUIT OF POWDER
|
Since 1982 Telluride Helitrax has been the state’s only heli-skiing operation delivering skiers to the San Juan Mountain’s most pristine backcountry winter conditions — that is, pure untracked powder. This month Helitrax is offering discounted ski packages, appeasing the single-day skier or the multi-day skier with high season snow conditions at low season prices.

Helitrax is offering 20 percent off multi-day trips from $1,250 per person to $999, and 15 percent off single-day trips from $1350 per person to $1,149. Most heli-ski days include six runs, weather permitting. And a new four-for-four package offers four runs per day for groups of four for $899 per person. Add a run or two extra for $150.
Heli-ski days include six runs of guided heli-skiing, lunch, snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and use of an avalanche beacon, powder skis or powder board, and ski poles. Helitrax also offers chartered service from Vail and Aspen as well as private heli-ski trips and exclusive groupings. Helitrax drops skiers at elevations from 10,000 to 13,500 feet ensuring untracked solitude amid the Telluride region’s most beautiful peaks, and offers skiers 1,000 to 2,500 feet of vertical drop.
Not only the sole heli-ski operator in Colorado, but Telluride Helitrax is also the only company in the business to purchase carbon offsets for each flight.
There are only 12 seats available in the chopper per day, so book early for February deals. Telluride Helitrax wraps up its season the end of March.

RESIDING ON TELLURIDE'S SUNNY SIDE
|
Telluride’s sunny side lifestyle couldn’t boast greater views — or more sunshine — than the residence at 267 East Gregory Avenue. Perched high on the north side of town, this home is one of the most architecturally unique in Telluride fashioned with a gambrel roof and an old country feel.
|

267 East Gregory Avenue is the quintessential sunny side residence.
|
Built during the early 1970s, this home was recently remodeled including new electric and plumbing throughout, and upgraded with a large capacity hot water system, steam showers and soaking tubs. Built-in closets and new windows and doors make the home both efficient and appealing.
Unobstructed and unmatched views of Ballard Mountain and the Telluride Ski Area can be seen from the residence’s four bedrooms and four baths. And outside, south-facing decks and the hot tub also grant clear views of Telluride’s expansive mountain vista. The 2,300 square-foot Gregory residence sits on two-plus town and includes an open parking area for two vehicles, a spacious storage shed, and ample yard space for gardening or gazing. 267 East Gregory is being offered at $2,200,000.
