AN AFFLUENT TRIO: CATSMAN'S DEVELOPMENTS THRIVE
What do Villas at Tristant, Townhomes on the Creek and Element 52 hold in common? Their selling successes are bucking the global economic trend and proving that the investment lifestyle and elegant mountain living remain a must for many.

Villas at Tristant recently celebrated the completion of its twentieth and final residence
Townhomes on the Creek, a collection of classic mountain townhomes running alongside Prospect Creek, recently welcomed its first of 14 residences as they received their first certificate of occupancy in early January, and boasted a closing in mid March. Thanks to Werner Catsman for crafting these exquisite homes.

Townhomes sister development, offering the same quintessential ski-in, ski-out access, Villas at Tristant is celebrating the completion of its twentieth and final unit with16 having sold and closed.

In early March, Steve Catsman and team hosted an event at Honga's Lotus Petal to commemorate the completion and announce new broker incentives and bonuses for sales at Tristant. Brokers were given a sneak peek of new photos of Tristant, and new, competitive pricing for Tristant's buildings 13 and 14 were announced at $650 per square foot for the next two sales.

Linking up success, Finbro Construction built both developments and will be working on the refined finishing touches at Telluride's newest and most opulent residential developments, Element 52, slated for completion next winter.

Another sign of the Telluride lifestyle's lasting appeal, Element 52 has 17 of 34 residences currently under contract. Element 52's advantageous location abutting the base of the Telluride Ski Area allows uncomplicated access to lifts 7 and 8 via a private lift. With all of the on-site and off-site amenities, these incomparable residences are elegant, spacious and diverse, appealing to distinct buyers.

TELLURIDE SKI SEASON SUCCESS NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE
With another great snowfall this season, a hearty early season snowpack and Telluride Ski Resort additions, the 2008-09 ski season was a shining star.

New this ski season, Revelation Bowl, a 50-acre bowl boasting an
800-vertical foot drop on the ski area's eastern side, was the talk of the town and of tourists.

KOTO Radio's pink flamingo street dance celebrates the end of ski season
Revelation Bowl Lift, or Lift 15, overlooks a 1,500 vertical cliff drop into
Bear Creek basin drainage and climbs to 12,570 feet at the base of the
Hillary Step. Pre ski season Telski promoted its newest addition with panoramic photos of the bowl — the photographic allure was a success.

While overall ski season tourism numbers were down, they weren't down by much. Skier days were off just 7 to 8 percent, not nearly what Telski officials expected. Over the Christmas holiday, skier numbers broke records. More people flew into Telluride and Montrose this winter, according to the Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization, and they attributed this increase to an additional daily roundtrip flight from Chicago, not to mention Telluride's early season acclaim as One of North America's Best Overall Ski Resorts.

The Revelation addition was not only a huge attraction for visiting skiers but allowed Telski to now boast one of the highest ski area vertical drops in North America at 4,425 feet.

From the top of Lift 15 skiers could access Telluride's terrain expansion of winter 2007-08, the Gold Hill Chutes 6-10 and Black Iron Bowl. The U.S. Forest Service backcountry access gate was an even easier option this ski season, and backcountry skier numbers proved that Telluride's side-country is unmatched and some of the most popular ski area-accessed backcountry in North America.
ENROLLMENT UNDERWAY FOR TELLURIDE ACADEMY ADVENTURE
Time is of the essence when securing a spot in a Telluride Academy summer program that invites children of all ages to the great outdoors everywhere from the San Juan Mountain wilderness and Utah's red rock canyon country to the jungles of Central America and the high peaks of Southern Asia.

Telluride Academy is gearing up for another busy summer of adventure
And while Telluride Academy is offering a slew of outdoor adventure programs this summer — more than 100 are on the schedule — spots traditionally fill quickly.

This month, the Academy opens seasonal operations with its first-ever trip to Africa. Sixteen young adults will travel to Wando Genet, Ethiopia to live and perform alongside Ethiopian students as a part of the Mudd Butt International theater troupe.

In May, the Academy will once again team with Mountainfilm in Telluride to offer the Aspiring Filmmakers Program, which joins local teens with their film buff counterparts from across the country for a special weekend of films and discussion. And in mid-June, Telluride Academy's full summer menu of programming begins. Highlights include Ashley Boling's guest appearance leading Moving Mountain Theater; the return of the popular girls-only surfing trip to Costa Rica; a trek into the enchanting Havasupai canyon; a skateboard road trip visiting Colorado's best skate parks; more mountain biking and rock climbing options for students of all ages; and, lots of whitewater, red rock, flower fairies, Mudd Butts and more.

Telluride Academy is an award-winning nonprofit organization for youth with nearly 30 years of operations in the Telluride region. From beginnings as a small backyard day camp formed in the early 1980s, attended by my young sons and 10 of their friends, Telluride Academy now serves more than 700 students each summer offering well over 100 unique programs based in adventure travel, mountain sports, outdoor education and exploration, and visual and performing arts.

For more info and to register your child visit www.tellurideacademy.com or call 970-728-5311. Sign your child up for adventure, so you too can have a Telluride adventure.

Hope to see you this summer...
