WELCOME TO WINTER

And welcome to Catsman's newsletter...
Telluride is approaching the 2008-2009 ski season right on schedule with just the perfect amount of new snowfall and perfect temperatures for snowmaking. The most exciting news to share is the completion of Revelation Lift.  This new fixed-grip quad chairlift was constructed using environmentally responsible helicopter techniques throughout the summer construction, once again attesting to Telluride Ski Resort's continued commitment to green standards. Telski was recently awarded an A for environmental stewardship by the Ski Areas Citizens' Coalition.

ELEMENT 52 IN TELLURIDE:
A LAVISH CHEMISTRY
What is both Telluride’s namesake and one of the earth’s rarest chemical elements, is now an unrivaled residential development located in the heart of town, Element 52. Tellurium is the fifty-second chemical element that once was a gauge to the presence of gold in the region, and today is the gauge to the presence of opulence.

Location, location, location:
Element 52 in Telluride

Element 52’s advantageous location abutting the base of the Telluride Ski Area allows uncomplicated access to lifts 7 and 8 via a private lift—no where are ski-in, ski-out accommodations more exact.

“It really has so much going for it, and very, very high-end amenities,” says Telluride Real Estate Corporation managing director and Element 52 developer Steve Catsman. “It’s certainly unique by Telluride standards.”

Developers broke ground last December and have since seen numbers speaking the project’s success: 16 of the 34 residences have already sold. Element 52 is planned for completion during the winter of 2010.

Residences range in size from a 585 square-foot studio to a nearly 6,000 square-foot, five-bedroom town home, and all residences boast the best in interior finishes including walnut flooring, milled steel, fir timbers, granite countertops, and stone, brick or steel fireplaces. Complimenting interior beauty are unmatched services and amenities, all completely private, including valet and limo services, stone pools, fitness center and spa, and a full wine bar, cellar and sommeliers.

Off site too, Element 52 offers its owners membership to 16 miles of private trails at Gray Head wilderness where skiing, biking, hiking and horseback riding are unparalleled.

TELSKI REVEALS REVELATION BOWL

In recent years, one consistent phrase satisfyingly sums up the Telluride Ski Resort: it just keeps growing, and growing, and growing. Revelation Bowl is one of Telluride’s newest welcomed additions, a 50-acre bowl boasting an 800-vertical foot drop on the ski area’s eastern side.

Revelation Bowl is Telski's
latest terrain addition

Lying exactly adjacent to Gold Hill’s west face, Revelation Bowl’s open, naturally treeless terrain has long been gazed upon by skiers from the Gold Hill ridge. Stout amounts of snow pile on this northeastern face by Telluride’s consistent westerly storm flows. This year the gazing is over and the lift-served skiing begins.

Revelation Bowl Lift, or Lift 15, begins at the base of the bowl overlooking a 1,500 vertical cliff drop into Bear Creek basin drainage and climbs to 12,570 feet at the base of the Hillary Step. From here skiers can take a short hike to access Telluride’s terrain expansion of winter 2007-08, the Gold Hill Chutes 6-10 and Black Iron Bowl.

Telluride Ski Resort
now boasts one of the highest vertical drops in North America at 4,425 feet with 3,845 feet of the total lift served.

“Revelation Bowl offers an unbelievable experience,” says Telski CEO Dave Riley. “With some of the best snow and scenery in North America, there are few places that can compare.”

Many say expanding lift-served skiing into the Bear Creek drainage, ringed with 13,000 foot-plus peaks, rivals European massifs and skiing amongst its giant snow-veiled peaks. With Telluride’s speedy growth, we just might be on the heels of a Euro tradition.
TELLURIDE’S FIRST REAL ESTATE WEBSITE NOW THE LATEST
In a time when buying and selling real estate was largely left to newsprint, glossy magazines and word of mouth, Telluride Real Estate Corporation managing director Steve Catsman explored a tool that soon would dominate the real estate market: the Internet.

It was 1998, Telluride's real estate market was booming, and Catsman was beginning to develop the exclusive 885-acre Gray Head residential  area. The local market was void of a web presence and Catsman filled the niche.

A new look, a new site launches
 new real estate insight

Pioneering web use in the Telluride market is just one of Catsman’s regional real estate firsts. He founded Telluride Real Estate Corporation, developed and designed the affordable residential neighborhood, Lawson Hill, and helped set in motion the Mountain Village.
Since his first launch, much has changed in the web world. Today he is launching a new website—his tenth so far—with a fresh look and access to the regional market by a mere click.

“The Internet will eventually replace local advertising in newspapers and print,” says Catsman. “I expect the Internet to accelerate the market and be the future.”
