It’s been nearly two years since the Town of Telluride and open space-seeking residents and nonresidents alike accumulated enough money to purchase the Valley Floor — now the town is defining just how to take care of all 570 acres of fragile and ecologically diverse land.

We’re not the only ones who know that the Telluride Ski Resort is simply impressive, the town of Telluride is absolutely picturesque, and the overall ski experience in the Telluride valley is unbeatable. Condé Nast Traveler readers are also in the know, and recently ranked Telluride second in its yearly poll, Top Ski Resorts and Hotels 2008. 

New flights, lower airfares, nonstop flight convenience, and Telluride’s unmistakable draw have kept the Montrose and Telluride airports busy — busier than even last January. The Telluride-Montrose Regional Air Organization reported that since the first of the year numbers have increased by nearly 1,400 passengers, an increase of more than 10 percent over last January.

Now staying in the loop of Telluride real estate is even easier. The new Steve Catsman website has an option to link up with the latest in the regional real estate market by simply signing up. Steve’s site now has the option to register for real estate notifications and listings updates that can be sent directly to your email. Registering for updates gives you the option to specify your exact real estate interests and needs, whether you want updates on all land, condos and homes, or simply those specified to your needs.

The Telluride ski season is officially, and bountifully, underway. December brought the Telluride Ski Resort a record-breaking snowfall total, and that record-breaker brought skiers out in large numbers with all grins. Despite tough economic times across the country, it seems Telluride’s allure has not dimmed and experiencing the ski town over the holidays is still a priority in the budget for many folks. Record numbers of skiers hit the slopes over the two-week holiday vacation, even in the frigid single-digit weather conditions.

Telluride is approaching the 2008/2009 ski season right on schedule with just the right amount of new snow fall and perfect temperatures for snow making. The most exciting news to share is the completion of the new Revelation lift. This new fixed-grip quad chairlift will expand into the long-awaited and anticipated "Revelation Bowl" terrain and add vertical rise to the entire ski resort. It’s worth noting that environmentally responsible helicopter construction techniques were used throughout the summer construction of this project.
